...The 21st Century has a lot to offer
''To learn is to change (or have the capacity to change) one's level of knowledge in a permanent way. . .measured by an individuals level of knowledge, performance or behaviour''
(Newby et al., 2000, p.8, cited in Finger et al., 2007).
Australia is becoming one of the world’s most multicultural countries, with over a quarter (26%) of the population being born overseas (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2011). This increasing number of people coming to live, work and be educated in Australia, results in a fast moving society heavily influenced by new technology. Technological resources provide people with the tools to communicate locally and internationally, express themselves uniquely and continuously update and edit their work. Students in Australian schools need to be confident in using these technologies, as they are the business people and employers of the future. The incorporation of ICTs is also paramount in motivating, enthusing and captivating students to learn, alongside improving students literacy and numeracy skills.
This website is designed to investigate and evaluate the different types of technology available for 21st century classrooms. And most importantly, what benefits this technology can bring to the overall learning outcome!
